The Anatomy of Love

pexels-photo-207962

Love comes not,

when you kiss her smiling lips,

find them sweet and moist,

with happiness and bliss

And love comes not,

when you kiss her bitter mouth,

find it sour and parched,

with sadness, an eternal drought

Love comes not,

when you lay down with her,

her warmth next to yours,

the feelings that you stir

And love comes not,

when you laugh with her,

and cry with her,

the boundaries that you blur

Love comes,

when you crawl under her skin,

finding all that is dark,

finding all that is light

You own the day,

taking pride in the night

And love comes

when you sneak into her soul,

finding all that is rotten,

finding all that is not

You own what is rotten,

savoring all that is not
