LOVE & CHOCOLATES

Un cuore nel cioccolato

There is nothing more tragic

than an empty box of chocolates.

There is nothing more frustrating,

and there is nothing more depressing.

There is nothing more annoying,

and there is nothing more maddening,

than an empty box of chocolates.

When it is full,

it is a box filled with dreams.

In every little bite,

the aroma of chocolate and creams.

When it is full,

it is a box filled with love,

In every coloured wrapper,

flavor in a chocolaty glove.

When it is full,

there is nobody richer,

nobody wealthier than you.

There is nobody happier,

more blessed than you.

Then it starts getting empty,

bit by bit, piece by piece,

it goes away.

Each tiny morsel, one step closer to heaven.

Each tiny grain, holds you under its sway.

You lick your fingers,

you lick them again.

You swirl your tongue,

you swirl it again.

But all the licking and swirling,

cannot make the chocolate stay.

You keep the box closed,

you hide it away.

You keep the box closed,

trying to remain composed.

But then greed takes over,

and your hands wander close.

But then desire takes over,

and caution, thither it goes.

You take one, you take two,

and then you take another.

You blow caution to the wind,

and take some more.

And finally the box is empty.

There is nothing more tragic

than an empty box of chocolates.
