I would love to be a butterfly
Riding the rainbows
and not watch my own colours;
just content to be a lover of flowers.

I would love to be a butterfly
Riding the rainbows
and not watch my own colours;
just content to be a lover of flowers.

میں اکثر سوچتا ہوں
کیا تتلیوں کی بھی انا ہوتی ہوگی؟
سنا ہے پھولوں پے فدا بہت ہوتی ہیں مگر
دیکھ سکتی نہیں پر اپنے

When ignored, the inner child does not vanish—it fades quietly.

There is a child in all of us,
waiting to get out and scream
No real worries and without any care,
pushing all limits and trying to dream
_______________________
There is a child in all of us,
attempting to solve the puzzle called life
No actual problems and without any caution,
carelessly running on the edge of a knife
_______________________
There is a child in all of us,
needing to be loved and love in return
No apprehensions and no hesitations,
scalding his innocence at life’s each turn
_______________________
There is a child in all of us,
wanting to dive into the whirlpool of fun
No lack of excitement and too much energy,
jumping ahead of all and having a good run
_______________________
There is a child in all of us,
a stranger to the demons of silence and guilt
Breaking all barriers and the walls we build,
no concerns for the milk wasted when spilt
_______________________
There is a child in all of us,
crying to be heard and followed unwisely
Harbouring sensitivity and deserving empathy,
dying when ignored and forgotten quietly

A poem for the wounded child inside every grown heart.

Come lay your head in my lap, little one,
you have so many enemies and friends, none
Tell me how the world trampled your dreams,
and tell me how the time stifled your screams
_______________________
Come lay your head in my lap, little one,
you have lost so much time; nothing has been done
Tell me how the words broke your heart,
and tell me how the taunts acted like a poisoned dart
_______________________
Come lay your head in my lap, little one,
shed away your worries, nowhere to run
Tell me all and tell me some more,
show me your soul, all blood and gore
_______________________
Come lay your head in my lap, little one,
fear no more; there is no case to be won
Cry some and then cry some more,
bare it all, your feelings all tender and sour
_______________________
Fear not, little one, I will reweave your dreams,
and mend your broken heart
Fear not, little one, I will kiss away your screams,
and bless you with a fresh start
_______________________
Fear not, little one, I will soothe away your pain,
and wipe all your frustration
Fear not, little one, I will bring the fresh rain,
and wash away all agitation

Come lay your head in my lap, little one
Come lay your head in my lap, little one

The rise and fall of desire, told through a box of chocolates.

There is nothing more enchanting,
than a full box of chocolates
There is nothing more satisfying,
and there is nothing more ecstatic
There is nothing more elating,
and there is nothing more fantastic
There is no bigger blessing,
than a full box of chocolates
__________________________________
When the box is full,
it is a box filled with dreams
In every little bite,
the taste of chocolate and creams
When the box is full,
it is a box filled with love
In every colored wrapper,
flavor enfolded within a delicious glove
__________________________________
When the box is full,
it makes you richer than the richest
Exploring all the candies,
becomes better than a quest
When the box is full,
it makes you very blessed
Savoring each flavor,
is an experience, better than the best

Then your greed takes over,
and the box starts getting empty
Bit by bit, and piece by piece,
it goes away, and it was quite plenty
Each piece of candy,
is one step closer to bliss
Each opened wrapper,
reminds you of a lover’s kiss

You lick your fingers,
you lick them again and again
You swirl your tongue,
the pleasure is wild and insane
You get addicted to the candies,
the creams and the flavors
You get obsessed with the pleasure,
the chocolates become soul savers
__________________________________
To make the chocolates stay,
you keep the box closed
You even hide it away,
trying to remain composed
You harness all your patience,
you keep your urge in check
You smile at your complacency,
but your determination is a wreck
__________________________________
Then the greed attacks again,
and your hands wander close
Your desire rekindles and takes over,
and caution, thither it goes
You take one, you take two,
and then you take the final bit
You blow caution to the wind,
the box is finally empty, and you also quit

There is nothing more tragic
than an empty box of chocolates
There is nothing more frustrating,
and there is nothing more depressing
There is nothing more saddening,
and there is nothing more maddening
There is no bigger dilemma,
than an empty box of chocolates
